Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out. saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'Out of his heart will flow forth rivers of living waters'."
—John 7:37-38
Jesus was making a mighty declaration: "Out of his heart will flow forth rivers of living waters". The Greek word used for "his heart" is koilia which means a cavity, translated "out of his belly" or "out of stomach". The NASB translation is "from his innermost being will flow rivers of living waters" — the inner life.
The anatomy of the inner life is staggeringly profound. Its contours are deep, complex, and multi-layered. It is a mystery that we need to search and understand.
IDMC 2018 "Faith & Fire: Living From The Inside Out" — It seeks to explore the terrains of the inner life and to bring forth discipleship from the inside out.
